Echo Dog Rescue - Live. Love. Rescue. Repeat
Echo Dog was founded in 2011 by Kim Harney. I have been working with local rescues for the past 4 years as a volunteer, transporter and foster home. Having a house full of labs, I saw the need for a predominantly large breed and Labrador rescue in the Portland area and hope to be able to place dogs into forever homes.

I have spent the past 9.5 years working professionally with dogs at a dog daycare/boarding facility, as a pet sitter, and AKC CGC evaluator. I have also been a volunteer guide dog puppy raiser and enjoy competition obedience with my own dogs.

Echo Dog is named for a wonderful rescue pup named “Echo”. Echo came into rescue from a county shelter at 6 months of age and was fostered at my workplace. Echo was known to be deaf at the time of rescue, but after 2 months in foster care it was determined that she had a brain tumor and she was humanely euthanized. Echo had an amazing spirit and her short life left a lasting impression on me-I want everyone who knew her to remember her and I cannot think of a better way than by saving dogs in her honor.

Every dog deserves a chance to have a loving, forever, home and I hope to make a small difference in the extreme overpopulation in our country.

Please email me with any questions and updates.

All of our pets are listed on www.adopt-a-pet.com

Mar 2012- Echo Dog will not be taking in any new dogs for the next few months. We are focosed on pet sitting to raise money to support rescue and will be fostering for other rescues in the meantime. Please consider us for your pet sitting needs and check back in the summer for adoptable pups!
